IThe introduction of a women’s league into the AFL combined with a league that has been expanding nationally via organic growth, we are seeing more women involved in the game than ever before - It has never been a better time to get involved with footy. At "The Fields" we believe that women's football is a natural extension of what our club is all about as we have always valued the role that women have played in the development of our club. We are and always have been an "inclusive" environment.
Women's football is a great way for girls and women to make friends, keep active and learn new skills. Women's football continues to grow at a rapid rate, meaning accessing a single gender team locally is easier than ever.
Caulfield Grammarians Football Club entered VAFA’s Premier Division in 2017. In 2018 we introduced a reserves team to accomodate the increasing interest in womens football. In 2019 we won our first Women's premiership which was a terrific moment for our club. We cater for all levels of interest and ability from the players who aspire one day to play AFLW or VFLW or just play footy for fun.
We are proud and passionate about empowering women to become involved across the sporting community having introduced a netball team in 2016. We would love to see the sisters of existing players, daughters of past players and their friends get involved in this new and exciting development. Whether it’s footy or netball, whether you’re a seasoned pro or have no experience at all, or just want to get involved, we would love to hear from you.
Why get involved:
Because you’ve always wondered what it would be like to play football or netball, or a great opportunity to try something new
Stay fit and healthy
Stay in touch with friends through awesome social events
Strong professional network and opportunities
You can probably come up with other reasons or you might not be sure about whether you want to get involved. There are a couple of options for you below for you if you would like more information or to receive updates on how our women's football team is progressing, but we really hope that you will get involved and spread the word.
