Season 2018 promises to be huge after 2017 was such a landmark year for the club with the inception of our Women's team into the VAFA women's competition but the little wins didn't stop there as our Under 19's made the impressive leap to Premier Division and more than held their own in a division littered with powerhouse clubs.
Our Thirds made yet another Grand Final under coach Will bowes and narrowly missed out on the ultimate glory showing that the depth of the club is alive and well. A week later the reserves under new coach Seb Gotch tasted the ultimate success with a resounding victory over Marcellin. This reserves team faced many challenges throughout the season including being decimated by injuries and overseas travel but Seb and his men stuck fat and prevailed when it counted most, and then there was our Senior side coached by Simon Williams in his second year at the club who held up the top of the ladder for most of the year to run out minor premiers but fell short on Grand Final day to Old Haileybury.
It was always a goal to get our great club back to B-grade and that was achieved with a big win in our Preliminary Final and although losing a Grand Final was a bitter pill to swallow for all at the club it will no doubt be a strong driving force come the start of Pre-season.
This club has such a bright future with so many young players already playing senior football and with further development and growth the possibilities are endless. The experience that the Under 19's gained from playing in Premier Division this year will hold this club in good stead for the future.
Our Women's football program is looking to add a second team such was the success of its inaugural season. The environment that was created by all involved from players to coaches to parents and friends was something special and will only get bigger and better with each passing season.
The club was thrilled to announce that Simon Williams, Seb Gotch and Nathan Beaumont have all signed on again for 2018 whilst the recruitment department have had some early success (more to come shortly) as well.
The club is excited for what the future holds and we look forward to welcoming everyone to day one of pre-season both old faces and new.
