The Caulfield Grammarians’ Football Club has an exceptionally long and proud history. In 2020 the club will celebrate 100 years of providing past students the opportunity to continue to play the Australian game with their friends from school.
While the Fields have won 22 Premierships, which we treasure greatly, it is the many people that have played a role at “our club” that make “our story” unique and special. 2020 will bring a number of opportunities for our community to honour our past, support our present and build for future success.
To organise the centenary season a sub-committee led by Will Bowes and guided by club patron Stephen Newton, was formed with the philosophy:
“To engage our past and current communities, to enable them to honour our Past, to encourage their support for our Present, and to enthuse and to enlist their involvement in securing our Future.”
The sub-committee has been engaging many people in our community so that the most appropriate occasions occur and we accurately capture the important stories of our long history. We are looking forward to sharing some of the stories of Eric Dakin, Wally Crabtree, JA & Liz Wilson, the Tootell family and many more across 2020.
A logo for the centenary has been designed to reflect the special occasion taking in the history and origins of the fields. A special centenary jumper for the season has also been designed and will be worn by all teams in season 2020.
All this will be in done with the backdrop of an exciting 2020 season where all our teams will be competing at the highest levels in their amateur competitions.
A full calendar of events will be confirmed in December once all fixtures have been completed. All event information can be found at www.cgfc.com.au.
We encourage all the Caulfield Grammarians Football Club community to be a part of the centenary of their great club.
