CGFC 2020 season Update: COVID-19
17 March, 2020.
Dear Supporters,
We would like to take the opportunity to provide an update on the Club’s response to the current COVID-19 situation.
We know this is truly an unprecedented scenario and every single one of us will be impacted by the current environment. Our hope is that all our players are looking after yourselves and your families, and providing the necessary support to your own communities, workplaces and schools.
The committee of the Caulfield Grammarians Football Club advise that the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) has decided today to postpone the start of the 2020 season until May 31 2020. In addition they have advised that all clubs should cease training and practice matches until further notice.
The VAFA Board considered all options in response to the COVID-19 outbreak and made the decision with the health and safety of all participants the fundamental priority. The decision aligns with all senior metropolitan community competitions following a meeting today.
This is a complex and difficult time for everyone with many unknowns. The Club appreciates your ongoing support and understanding, and will ensure the latest information is communicated as soon as it comes to hand.
All CGFC events, including the jumper presentation, will be postponed until a potential revised season is known.
On behalf of everyone at the Club, we encourage you all to take care of yourselves and each other during this challenging time and once again thank you for being part of our great club. Together we will get through this.
Go Fields!
Peter Small
President - Caulfield Grammarians Football Club
