Blog. It's a pretty ugly word isn't it. About as ugly as the performances of our sides on the weekend. But enough of that on the homepage (thanks Geoff and Krem for the reports). The performance of the players, friends, supporters, WAGS and randoms on Saturday night was first-class. In the loudest of loud rooms at the swankiest of swanky venues, beers were drunk, downed and dropped into the wee hours of the night. Everyone was in fine form. Old and new commiserated together. Old Bakes (hayden Baker) voiced his 'dislike' for New Bakes (Tim Baker) while Chris Hammond met and faced up to the biggest challenge in football. No, I'm not talking about the fullback that has to stop the footy from sticking in the dukes of Slevo. No, I'm talking about the skolling ability of Justin Kremmer. Hammo would have done well had half of his drink not ended up on his shirt after each attempt. Speaking of skolling, word came out that Under 19's coach Chris mathieson is quite the champion. Like A Current Affair viewer's who aren't sure about Ray Martin's hair, we are yet to be convinced. Roll on up in you're game big fella. As the night kicked on, and more people left for home, the dancefloor awaited. The man, James Foote, danced to Duran Duran while Simon Widjaja also made an appearance...I can't remember the song it was that he tore apart...'Widj' song was it Grammarians? Sorry, I couldn't resist the 'Widj' pun of the week - watch out for more in coming blogs. From there, the likes of Callum 'Elmur Fudd' Sinclair and the entourage continued to rip up the d-floor like it was an old pair of jeans (or maybe a new pair of Stevie ones - whatever takes your fancy..). Soon enough, eyes began to glaze over and people were stuck outside in the rain waiting for taxi drivers to do their job and take people home. If anybody else failed their primary responsibility in the workforce as often as cabbies do, then I'd say they would get the sack. Why is it that Cab drivers are protected then? A question to mull over Grammarians.............Mmmm i've done my 'mulling'. Still nothing comes to mind. Feel free to let me know. Nevertheless, groove was in the heart in da club and it was a successful season launch by any measure. Now for the next blog, I am not sure what it will be about...Hopefully a win. Keep your eyes and ears open Grammarians, and beware of the blog. I can be as gutless as I want to be behind the mask that is the internet. The blog is where the whispers, the gander, the word, the news, the scandals and the rumours will be aired. And maybe some footy too. Bolg, loud, open, gossip. Sounds good? You betchya life it does!
